The Project Manager will apply industry standard project management principles, develop and maintain the CFS master project plan, guide and direct multiple projects teams to the successful completion of their assigned projects. Over ninety percent of these projects are IT projects related to the Epic Revenue Cycle applications. The employee directs and assists teams in outlining and developing their specific project requirements. This leader defines project goals and success markers, determines how success will be measured and tracked. The Project Manager ensures the project remains on time and on budget (if appropriate) and helps motivate team members to hit their goals. This leader also acts as a liaison between the project teams, upper level management, and external organizations such as Vidant and other 3rd Party vendors. This leader will prepare and present progress reports for the Director of CFS, and as appropriate to ECUP executive leadership and ensures the projects are furthering organizational goals as expected. In addition this leader is responsible for developing a robust Project and Change Management Program for ECU Physicians. This will include the development of policies and procedures, and utilizing the ECU's Team Dynamics project management software. This staff member will collaborate with the ECUP Training Department to develop educational material related to project and change management. It is the responsibility of this leader to stay abreast of new ECU information technology roll-outs, their applicability to Revenue Cycle stakeholders, their implementation and adaptions.

Clinical Finance and Business Support Services/Group Practice Administration is responsible for the clinical and administrative oversight of the group practice for ECU Physicians. The practice is comprised of approximately 360 faculty physicians, 52 contracted providers and employs a diverse clinical support staff of more than 1,200 individuals, of which approximately 350 employees are working within revenue cycle operations The practice provide approximately 550,000 outpatient, 155,000 emergency room and 126,000 inpatient services annually to nearly 160,000 patients. Clinical Finance and Business Support Services reports to the ECU Physicians (ECUP) Executive Director and ECUP Chief Financial Officer to support key fiscal and operational components of the clinical practice and revenue cycle operations. These include direct management responsibility for staffing and operations in the centralized functions of the Central Billing Office (CBO) and oversight for decentralized activities. Centralized functions include: Payor Contracting and Evaluation, Regulatory Compliance and Credentialing; Computer System and Procedure Training; Insurance and Patient Billing, Follow-up and Collections; Cash Management of Professional Fee Revenue; Business Intelligence Services such a Reporting and Analytics; Coordinated Patient Access Support; and Contact Center Decentralized functions include: Registration, Referral Management, Pre-Service Financial Preparation; Service Identification and Reconciliation; Coding and Charge Entry; and Project Management and Process Improvement.
