As Hana continues to rapidly expand & grow, our newly created and critical role of Director of Transactions & Underwriting is responsible for overseeing all underwriting and modeling that drives investment decisions. This global role will manage a team of analysts responsible for providing analytical support for all investment and real estate decisions globally. There will be significant exposure and collaboration with Hana senior leadership, the global brokerage team, and outside clients including landlords and asset managers. Using both Hana and CBRE resources, this position is also responsible for tracking Hana's deal pipeline, summarizing all investment business cases and working with Hana leadership through investment committee approval and deal execution.
Responsible for overseeing a variety of analyses and all relevant documents, including but not limited to: project initiation, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), proposal comparison packages, letters of intent, and broker's opinions of value.
Understands how to review, analyze, and interpret financial analysis templates including, NPV (net present value), and IRR (internal rate of return) financial analyses.
Facilitates the development of a robust client report package and has the ability to prepare and deliver effective presentations to relevant parties.
Collaborate with global leadership and analytics team to facilitate and report market analytics, demographic studies, new market selection, and reporting.
Ensures proposed transactions are accurate and achieve key agreed terms and underwriting hurdles
Works with CBRE and Hana's Financial resources to ensure alignment for reporting and forecasting purposes.
Ability to support the development of strategic partnerships in the region and participate in the creation of pro forma business plans by working with third parties and the Hana team
Provides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Recommends staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university in a business-related field with strong academic record. Advanced graduate degree preferred, but not required.
Minimum of 5+ years' experience in Commercial Real Estate, Management Consulting, Investment Banking, or Real Estate Finance.
Demonstrable expertise of analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions in a high-growth sector. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.
Teamwork, cooperation, ability to take direction and develop others
Strong time management skills and experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
