Under the general supervision of the Cal-SOAP/Educational Talent Search Director, the incumbent is responsible for coordinating and supporting the administrative operations of the Cal-SOAP Consortium and TRiO Educational Talent Search (ETS) projects, serving as the control point for communications and financial transactions for staff in the field and office. The incumbent is responsible for a wide variety of administrative, student employee recruitment management, and financial reporting duties. The incumbent will support student staff and work closely with the project staff to successfully carry out the administrative operations of Cal-SOAP and ETS. The incumbent will perform/implement policies, procedures, special projects management, procurement, preparation and maintenance of materials, correspondence, communication, scheduling meetings, event logistics, travel, and clerical/administrative support to the Cal-SOAP, ETS and other programs/projects in the center. The incumbent will also be responsible for purchasing, payroll reporting, budget planning, monitoring and tracking, financial analysis, and special projects of an analytical nature.

The Cal-SOAP (California Student Opportunity and Access Program) and TRIO-TS (Talent Search) programs, under the umbrella of the EPC, serve underrepresented, low-income students from the San Jose region with the goal of increasing cohort students' participation rate in post-secondary education.
Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent combination of experience/training.
Ability to manage a high-level administrative office.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills sufficient to identify needs, conduct research and develop innovative conclusions to proposals, solutions, and projects.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written, to deal effectively with diverse groups and individuals at various levels within an organization.
Strong self-motivational skills for independently initiating working relationships with a wide variety of people.
Must be able to move materials, weighing up to 25-30 pounds, with or without accommodation.
Will be required to provide proof of negative TB test results within 60 days of hire.
Must have the ability to work evening, weekends, and travel within service area and nationally, if necessary.
Selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check.
