The Policy Analyst manages operational activities related to research and coordinates with appropriate University financial administrators to obtain timely financial reports, managing and tracking project expenditures, and facilitate subcontracts. S/he coordinates the purchasing of durable and nondurable goods, equipment, and supplies. Under the direction and supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI), the Policy Analyst has additional duties that include but are not limited to:
Manages and coordinates data use agreements and renewals.
Facilitates and tracks compliance with data use agreements.
Sets a detailed schedule of tasks and deadlines and tracks progress against that schedule, facilitating coordination and communication among all collaborating entities, including meeting scheduling, and providing overall project logistics.
Communicates with and submits necessary documents to the Investigational Review Board (IRB).
Provides substantive research expertise, including identifying and reviewing relevant literature and keeping a project reference database, preparing briefing slides, and developing figures, tables, and narrative text.
Identifies, collects, and prepares data, implementing analyses under the direction of project investigators.
Maintains appropriate and effective working relationships with collaborating entities and University colleagues.
At least 3 years of related experience required, or equivalent combination of work experience and education
Demonstrated project management skills
Research experience with general knowledge of financial management, policies, and procedures
Demonstrated knowledge of research grant policies and procedures
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
