Under the supervision of the International Admissions Manager, the International Admissions Officer contributes to the University of Missouri-St. Louis' international enrollment efforts through the timely processing of international applications and academic credentials. In cooperation with the Office of the Registrar and individual academic units, the International Admissions Officer facilitates the evaluation of international undergraduate coursework for transfer equivalency.
The International Admissions Officer is a member of the International Admissions team within UMSL Global. UMSL Global is the university nexus for international admissions, immigration services, connections, global engagement and impact, and currently serves a growing population of several hundred international students, as well as faculty members and staff.
Manages day-to-day tasks related to international student admissions.
Review, analyze and process international academic credentials.
Facilitate application processing for international graduate students.
Review international undergraduate applications and determine students' eligibility for admission.
Update student records and code admissions decisions.
Coordinate undergraduate transfer credit process for students with international coursework.
Provide routine guidance and assistance to departments, staff and prospective and current students regarding international admissions, international transcripts and international undergraduate transfer credit policies and procedures.
Maintain continuity of applicant data between University software systems. Monitor applications for completeness.
Assist with the digitalization of application and immigration materials.
Be familiar with regulations and procedures governing international students in the United States as they relate to admissions.
Other duties as assigned.
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
At least two years of admission experience and/or other student centered higher education experience.
Ability to work effectively with people from a variety of cultures and backgrounds.
Knowledge and experience with PeopleSoft, Slate and document imaging is preferred.
Experience working with international students in a formal setting.
