Provide financial planning and analysis (FP&A) support at the corporate level and assists executive management in the development of strategic and operating plans for Churchill Downs Incorporated. Work with the FP&A operating segment leaders to provide analysis on actual results, develop forecasts, and to develop actions to achieve forecasts. Responsible for analysis and decision support related to capital management and business development activities. Responsible for corporate purchasing function providing leadership oversight, analytics, and negotiation support for all purchases made by corporate functions, business segments, and properties. Provide financial analysis and decision support to the executive management as needed. Provide financial leadership to United Tote, Information Technology, and all other Corporate functions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Lead the development of operational and financial models used to forecast corporate financial results over the long term.
Develop forecasts and analysis to support capital management decision making.
Work with EVP/CFO to provide financial and operational analysis to executive management and the Board of Directors.
Responsible for financial modeling and analysis support of Business Development.
Responsible for maintaining/updating cost of capital for CDI and the operating segments, as needed.
Responsible for working wtih VP-Investor Relations and Treasury to develop corporate messages for investors (e.g. investor presentations, press releases, Q&A)
-Lead the business operating segments through operating cycles, including:
Monthly analysis of actual results.
Development of monthly forecast updates.
Development of annual operating plan.
-Work with FP&A operating segment leaders to
Refine financial and operating statistics to drive consistent performance and accountability.
Develop capital forecasts and to implement plans to achieve spend capital efficiently and effectively.
-Provide leadership to Corporate Purchasing team
Responsible for establishing processes and controls and maintaining purchasing system used to purchase goods and services for corporate functions, business segments, and properties.
Responsible for working with Corporate Purchasing team to analyze spend across functions, business segments, and properties to identify opportunities for consolidated purchases/negotiations.
Responsible for supporting negotiations, as needed, for major corporate, business segment, and property purchases.
-Provide financial leadership to United Tote, Information Technology, and all other Corporate functions
-Ensure the team is utilizing state-of-the-art techniques, tools, and technology to perform the analysis and plans in the most efficient, timely and effective manner as possible.
Bachelors degree in accounting or finance
Masters, CPA, and/or CFA preferred
A minimumn of 10-15 years' experience in financial planning and analysis
Strong demonstrated management and leadership skills including ability to operationalize strategic plans
Excellent analytical, financial modeling, problem solving, and strategic thinking skills
Excellent financial acumen and thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP
Working knowledge of financial markets, financial systems, and capital management.
Detail oriented, professional demeanor, strong organization and project management skills
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively with senior/executive management and the board of directors
Excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills
Strong work ethic and ability to cultivate working relationships throughout the organization
Willingness and ability to pass suitability requirements of a gaming license body, including submission of detailed background and financial data, if required.
