This detail-oriented position will lead strategic direction for marketing analytics, marketing operations and technology, and marketing planning practices; lead improvements in workflows and timely production of asset deliverables; develop and define key success metrics for marketing campaigns and digital assets; design dashboards that track these metrics; and create and direct the strategies and ROI (return on investment) for events and sponsorships. The ideal candidate loves to dig into data, polish processes, and is an analytics expert who is adept at uncovering and communicating key takeaways in an understandable way. This person will ensure that the marketing and communications team has the tools, data, reports, and processes it needs to be successful. This position requires someone who is highly detailed and results oriented who understands best practices in developing processes and analytics that support the marketing and communications function. This person must be able to balance the need for change with making change happen in a positive manner.The Director, Marketing Operations and Analytics position is critical for UW Medicine growth and development by creating a robust analytics unit that provides key data and analysis for strategic planning. UW Medicine has moved to be much more data focused in our work, developing and reviewing key performance analytics that measure effectiveness and return on investment in UW Medicine digital campaigns and products. Instilling a more process-focused framework is another critical role this position will lead, which is essential high-quality and effective marketing and communications.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESProcess Direction and Oversight:Lead the team to identify ways to improve key marketing operations, processes and workflows to enhance overall organizational efficiency and effectiveness. Proactively identify and successfully address gaps in people, processes, and tools and influence change.Lead large and/or complex cross-functional marketing, branding and communications projects, including: ensuring project scope is clearly defined and aligned, creating and maintaining detailed deliverables-based project plans, tracking milestone progress against the plan, ensuring resources and budget are appropriately assigned, and status updates are regularly communicated to stakeholders.Oversee and report on multi-channel project intake process and optimize the process as necessary.Identify technology needs to optimize collaboration.Address program issues, escalations and troubleshooting of production challenges.Analytics Planning and Development:Working collaboratively with marketing strategy team, other Strategic Marketing and Communications (SMC) colleagues and our marketing and media buying agencies, build, analyze and develop dashboards around key performance indicators (KPI's) and related metrics for service line marketing, brand and related campaigns. Support marketing strategy team's primary KPI to drive patient acquisition and retention through thoughtful reporting and analyses designed to optimize campaign performance.Present analysis and insights in a clear and concise manner to team members and other stakeholders.Define reporting requirements for UW Medicine's website.Provide implementation requirements for Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.Setup analytics in GTM.Leading events and sponsorships:Lead team responsible for creating and managing marketing and public health events and sponsorship program.Ensure that events and sponsorships are strategically focused and aligned with business and budgetary objectives.
