1.Responsible for developing, marketing, executing and evaluating all Office of Alumni Engagement digital engagement efforts, including a social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn. Responsible for the production of a monthly alumni e-newsletter in collaboration with the Director of Alumni Engagement and the Office of Marketing and Communication staff. This responsibility includes maintaining and updating a current alumni email list in the institutional database (Ellucian).
2.Research, capture and edit basic video for use on the College’s official alumni social media and web platforms. Employs both Apple and Windows computer systems.
3.Schedule, promote and execute assigned alumni engagement, affinity, and giving events and initiatives. To build the momentum of a given campaign, events take place on-campus, locally, and nationally in order to inform and motivate North Central College's diverse population of alumni and friends to make a gift. Arrangements, including food, equipment, invitations, and solicitations may be made by this person. Attendance will also be required at most of these events, including nights and weekends. Travel required.
4.Oversee the alumni/development communication plan. With the administrative assistant for Alumni Engagement, collaborate with the Office of Marketing and Communication to coordinate, implement and evaluate all Office of Alumni Engagement mailings. This process includes selecting appropriate target audience of each mailing, such as alumni event announcements, affinity group solicitations, and meeting target dates set against each mailing. Assist with the design, printing and distribution of hard mailings and e-mails.
5.Advise the Student Alumni Association, a student to alumni bridge program. A focus on educating students and recent graduates on the importance of philanthropy and long-term young alumni annual giving will be the highest priority. Responsible for event programming, marketing and ongoing communication for this program as well as collaborating with the offices of Career Services and Student Involvement to further advance the association's mission.
6.Advise Class Gift Committee and be responsible for obtaining the donor and dollar goals for said campaign. This includes advising the students' planning of all necessary activities and events. Work with the Director of Alumni Engagement to engage the Class Gift Committee members of a given year to encourage annual alumni donor participation.
7.Assist, as needed, with the coordination, implementation and evaluation of major campus events such as Homecoming, Athletic Hall of Fame, Honors Day, Countdown to Commencement, Senior Celebration and Commencement. Attendance and active participation at listed events is required.
8.Assist with the management and promotion of the Alumni Admission Ambassador Network scholarship program to recruit prospective students.
9.Provide support to the Alumni Board as directed by the Director of Alumni Engagement. Attendance at meetings is required.
10.Conduct a minimum of twenty-five annual personal solicitation calls.
11.Demonstrate civil and inclusive behavior when interacting with staff, faculty, students and visitors to the College. Promote a flexible, collaborative and inclusive work and living environment and engage in educational opportunities to increase awareness and understanding of diversity and inclusion.
12.Perform other duties as assigned.
MARGINALFUNCTIONS 1.Serve as a representative of the College, and assist with organizational tasks at various alumni and development events. 2.Assist in the refining and consistency of donor recognition in buildings and on the grounds. 3.Perform routine office functions such as assembling mailings, copying and filing.
A bachelor's degree is in communications, development, marketing or a related field.
A minimum of one-year experience is required, preferably in the field of experience with alumni, development, marketing, communication, volunteers and event planning, preferably in higher education.
Licenses or Certifications:
A valid driver's license is required.
To engage alumni, current students, parents and friends more fully within the life and culture of the College by means of cultivating relationships and strengthening alumni connections to the institution. Specifically, the Alumni Engagement Officer will be responsible for the creation, cultivation and stewardship of a robust suburban and regional club calendar of engagement events. This position will be responsible for digital engagement communications and sequencing (social media, emails). Other areas this position will be heavily involved in include affinity groups, the alumni website, Student Alumni Association, Class Gift Committee, Homecoming, events on and off campus and other appropriate initiatives that positively impact student and alumni experiences as well as donor support to the College.
