Under the general supervision of the Associate Director of Digital Intelligence, the Content and Data Specialist provides support for UC San Diego Health's consumer-facing directory, Find a Provider. The incumbent is responsible for clinician data entry and verification, editing profiles based on the style guide, and performing data alignment projects for Find a Provider and other relevant platforms.
Duties include fact-checking, writing, proofreading and copyediting requests to all clinician profiles, as well as managing the Find a Provider web pages, which includes updating content, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, and uploading images and other multimedia elements such as news links, videos and podcasts.
With guidance from the Associate Director of Digital Intelligence, the incumbent is responsible for detailed keyword mapping projects and will provide reports in Google Analytics and other platforms, as needed. The Content and Data Specialist communicates frequently with other team members to provide updates and also works closely with the Applications Manager to manage, troubleshoot and resolve Find a Provider data/website issues of moderate scope.
The efforts put forth by the Content and Data Specialist support enterprise-wide solutions implemented by UC San Diego Health's Marketing and Communications Department. As such, the incumbent uses professional concepts to enter and publish data, apply editorial style in responding to clients, and assist in maintaining UC San Diego Health's medical specialty organization.
A Bachelor's Degree in related area; and/or equivalent experience/training.
Two (2+) or more years of relevant experience - gathering and preparing data and content information for data entry to websites and/or systems and working with MS Excel.
Familiarity with fundamentals of writing, grammar, syntax, style, and punctuation. Experience and success in fundamentals of writing and data manipulation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Skill performing data entry tasks with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to perform data cleaning tasks at advanced levels.
Possess a professional and proactive demeanor. Handle and resolve issues/questions in a timely and effective manner.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to initiate and complete tasks with minimal supervision. Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks in a time-constrained environment.
Familiar with medical terminology/American Board of Medical Specialties.
Previous work experience in health-related marketing or communications field.
Proven ability and working experience to write copy and edit for accuracy and style. Knowledge of proper English grammar, spelling, punctuation and syntax.
Experience working with various software programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), Microsoft Outlook, computer application programs for publishing, image handling, and/or web production, and database management systems.
Ability to perform data cleaning tasks of intermediate and advanced levels.
Thorough fact verification skills.
Proficiency using analytics platforms to produce reports for analysis and review.
Ability to initiate and complete detailed tasks with minimal supervision.
Ability to research and analyze information, draw conclusions and input relevant information into database programs.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
