Summary: The Epic Cogito Reporting Manager is responsiblefor the overall success of analytics within the Epic environment and forcoordinating analytics tasks across all Epic applications. The Manager hasstrong communication skills, experience with project management, providesdirection and leadership to staff, and ensures analytic projects align withsystem goals. The manager is a key participant in the organization's analyticsstrategy, delivering information to the enterprise through analytics and datavisualization platforms. The Manager is responsible for the daily operation andstaff management of the Cogito Reporting team in support of the Health CareSystem. Key responsibilities are: manage and coordinate analytics tasks; act asproject manager for analytics projects or assist project manager in managingprojects; guide and manage staff to coordinate with business users to translatebusiness requirements into analytics, reports and dashboards; assists with thedesign and development of databases; data governance; and maintain and supportanalytics applications and tools. The Manager will support, promote and driveimplementation of best practices in the areas of business intelligence andanalytics. The Manager demonstrates strong leadership skills. The Manager willwork with the Director to lead and promote efforts within the department tohelp standardize work processes and understand departmental capacity, andpromote innovation in all aspects of the team's work. The Manager will alsoensure that all systems, reports, and dashboards enhance and safeguardproprietary patient, family, and employee confidentiality, data integrity,security, and availability to appropriate staff.
Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in information technologyrequired.
Minimum of 3 years in a management, supervisory or leadposition required.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Health Careenvironment preferred.
Experience with project management and its methodologies andbest practices.
Experience with business intelligence tools: Microsoft BIstack, SAP Business Objects, Qlikview, Spotfire, Tableau, or Crystal Reports.
Experience programming in R, SAS, Python, SQL or equivalentprogramming languages.
Experience with Business Intelligence development lifecycle.
Proven experience with business and technical requirementsanalysis, elicitation, modeling, verification and methodology development.
Experience overseeing the design, development, andimplementation of business intelligence and database solutions, systems, orproducts.
Experience with implementing third-party applications andsupporting enterprise applications.
Experience working closely with vendors, reviewingcontracts, and vendor management.
The ability to create systematic and consistent requirementsspecifications in both a technical and user-friendly language.
Ability to apply statistical and other research methods intosystems issues and products as required. Able to exercise independent judgmentand take action.
