PhD in health care management, information systems, finance, or a closely related field. Candidates who are ABD will be considered, but the position requires completion of all doctoral requirements by the date of the appointment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary instructional duties will likely include healthcare information systems, electronic health records, project management, and data management and/or introductory and intermediate healthcare finance courses at the undergraduate or graduate levels. Secondary teaching duties for both positions may include other healthcare management courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Successful applicants will have a focus on teaching excellence in both the traditional face-to-face and online environments. Faculty members are expected to maintain an active program of scholarship as well as participate in service activities at the program, department, college, university, profession, and community levels. Responsibilities also include advising, coaching, and mentoring students.
The department invites applications for one to two, tenure track, faculty positions in health care management with areas of expertise in Healthcare Information Systems and/or Healthcare Finance. Applicants with teaching and professional experience who can facilitate students' application of principles and concepts in health care scenarios will be given strong consideration, and those with health care industry or other relevant experience. The successful applicant will have a focus on teaching excellence in both the traditional face-to-face and online environments.
