A Relationship Manager isan IT liaison for assigned departments/groups within Vanderbilt. The Relationship Manager is responsible forfacilitating a relationship with their assigned areas under guidance from the AssociateDirector. The Relationship Manager worksclosely with their assigned areas to understand their business needs andconnect customers with the resources within VUIT to accomplish businessgoals. This position will primarilyfocus on research areas across the institution, although additional areas ofresponsibility will also be assigned. RelationshipManagers collaborate with other groups within VUIT to communicate a variety ofinformation to customers with an eye towards making the communicationappropriate to the receiver. In additionto building strong relationships with customers, Relationship Managers may alsobuild strategic partnerships within VUIT.

Key Functions and ExpectedPerformance
Schedule andcoordinate periodic check-in conversations with customer representatives. Share updates and information on upcominginitiatives, gather information from customer on upcoming initiatives, anddiscuss any escalation items.
Be highlyavailable to customers for questions or to escalate issues and concerns.
Providecommunications to customers on changes and VUIT projects
Attendcustomer functions such as open houses, forums, and speakers in an effort tolearn more about customer areas.
Coordinates relationships betweencustomer and project team:
Informsgovernance and project team of the needs of the customer through discussionswith the customers and ultimately by entering it into the Planview projectportfolio management system
Works withproject team to represent customer needs in governance meetings
Acts asliaison between the customer and project team as needed throughout requestedcustomer projects.
Acts as aresource for the Project Manager on customer projects.
Assists in draftingand sending communication for project impacts.
Attendsproject status meetings
Support VUIT Internal Processes:
Attend internalVUIT governance and process meetings and provides customer perspective.
Attendinternal governance and status meetings and make sure information isdisseminated to appropriate customers.
Stay abreastof VUIT service offerings, processes, procedures, and strategic direction tohelp inform customer areas.
RepresentRelationship Management team on VUIT projects and initiatives.
Communicatechanges to appropriate customer groups
Assist withcommunications needed for projects.
Assist VUITteam members with identifying appropriate customers and messaging needed fordifferent communications.
Communicatecustomer issues and concerns to internal VUIT teams.
This position does not have supervisoryresponsibility; the position reports functionally and administratively to thePr. Relationship Manager.
