The Part-time Administrative Assistant will assist the principal investigator with assembling grant applications and proposals, assisting with editing and submitting manuscripts to various journals, and general and collaborator correspondence. This position will report to the Distinguished Professor Gangjee.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides oversight on the operating budgets and reviews quarterly budgets to ensure operating activity is accurate, appropriate, and in line with the annual budget plan.
Monitors and manages all non-labor accounts and discretionary funds including overhead, endowments and scholarship accounts.
Provides assistance with typing and assembling grant applications/proposals.
Provides assistance with editing and submitting manuscripts to various journals. Manages the follow-through with completing and submitting copyright forms and revise documents for re-submission as required.
Performs other related job duties as assigned by the principle investigator.
Work requires an Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution with 1-3 years’ project management experience preparing grant applications and proposals or any combination and experience to perform the essential job duties. This includes but not limited to the following:
Knowledge of guidelines and requirements for grant applications and proposals
Ability to prioritize and work independently
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong organizational skills
Knowledge of operating systems i.e., MS Office Suite, Banner, Sedona, ChemDraw and EndNote a plus
