General Description: Johns Hopkins Engineering for Professionals (EP) is seeking a Multimedia Technician to serve in its Center for Digital and Media Initiatives. EP is the division of the Whiting School of Engineering that serves online and part-time students across 20 engineering and applied science master’s degree and certificate programs.
The successful candidate must be highly proactive and demonstrate the ability to work independently, maintain organization and customer service excellence with faculty and staff. This position reports to the Director of the Center for Digital and Media Initiatives and is located at the Dorsey Center in Elkridge, Maryland. The Multimedia Technician will work very closely with EP instructional design staff and instructional technology staff in developing materials for online courses and instructor training resources, and with marketing staff in contribution to marketing videos.
The Primary Duties:
Record and edit audio and video of instructors and guest lecturers to be employed in EP online courses and courses housed on the Coursera platform.
Collaborate with instructional design staff to create effective online training resources for instructors.
Record and edit audio and video of special events and marketing pieces for publishing to web.
Provide support to and/or livestream program-based events.
Provide support to instructors on best practices when creating video recordings.
Work with various software tools to enhance multimedia presentations, for example, Adobe Creative
Cloud editing tools.
Uploading videos to Kaltura – our online video streaming service.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Qualifications (Mandatory):
High School Diploma/GED.
Four years of related work experience.
Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Experience working with higher education faculty and staff.
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must be highly proactive. Must demonstrate the ability to work independently. Must be able to maintain organization and customer service excellence with faculty and staff.
