DIRECTOR, DONOR ENGAGEMENT PROJECTS , Resource Development-Office of Donor Relations and Stewardship (DRS) , to report to the senior director of donor relations and stewardship and partner with the director of donor relations and director of stewardship to create and implement an overarching stewardship and donor engagement strategy for major donors to the Institute. Will perform a range of duties that include the development and implementation of strategic donor recognition and engagement programs for major and principal gift donors; crafting strategies and processes that help secure and strengthen the long-term relationship between donors, prospects, and MIT; and acting as an integral and highly visible senior member of the DRS team, partnering and strategizing with frontline fund-raising staff across all frontline fund-raising units in Resource Development and Campaign Office and Marketing, Communications, and Events offices to ensure the delivery of high-level stewardship communications and engagement activities to the Institute's most generous donors.
REQUIRED : bachelor's degree; at least seven years' experience in stewardship/donor relations, communications, or related field; at least two years' experience supervising staff and managing performance; excellent organizational, interpersonal, writing, and oral communication skills; attention to detail; understanding of design, digital communications, and working with outside providers; discretion with confidential information; flexibility; openness to new ideas; and proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple projects accurately and within deadlines, engage with a diverse group of donors, collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels of an organization, and function both independently and as part of a team. Direct experience in donor relations strongly preferred. Knowledge of fund-raising, familiarity with MIT, and experience with fund-raising databases like Advance desirable. Job #17830-9
