Berklee is looking for a Director of Student Systems Operations with solid project management experience who is excited about moving Berklee toward operational excellence using advanced software systems. Under the supervision of the Registrar, the Director of Student Systems Operations leads the Student Systems Operations Team of the Office of the Registrar (OREG) and will provide key project management for an institute-wide initiative to implement the Student module of the Workday ERP.
The Student Systems Operations team consists of the Director, two Assistant Directors (reporting directly to the Director), and an Operations Specialist and The Director has direct management responsibility for the three other members of the Student Systems Operations team: Student Systems Operations Manager, Process and Systems Analyst, and Senior Program Outreach Specialist.has oversight of the student information systems, software tools, and processes used by Berklee in the administration of student records and registration. The responsibilities of this team include data integrity and security, reporting and assessment, security and compliance, records management, outreach and training, technical and software support of all registration processes and functions (student and term registration, course registration, progress toward degree, etc.). The Director of Student Systems Operations provides oversight and direction for the Student Systems Operations team, establishing goals, determining best practices, evaluating methodology and resources, overseeing process and system documentation, and working collaboratively with partners across the entire campus.
The Director of Student Systems Operations will additionally have a central role in the implementation of over the next few years Workday. This multi-year project requires strong project management around student services operations across Berklee. As such, the in assessing current business processes and business requirements in order to craft new processes that make optimum use of new enterprise software tools. As such, the Director will have a business analyst role and must be able to think holistically and strategically around the curricular, process, and system needs of the College. The work environment is highly decentralized, collaborative, fast-paced, and dynamic.
Bachelors degree required, master preferred, with at least six years of experience with some combination of project management, management, and/or higher education administration.
A background in project management and/or business analysis required.
Demonstrated success leading and developing a team.
Managerial experience and the ability to work effectively under minimum direction.
Deep and broad understanding of software solutions as they apply to student information.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand complex problems holistically and find strategic solutions.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills in order to work effectively with all levels within the College.
Self-motivated and highly engaged.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Proven project management experience
Experience with a student information system (preferably Ellucian Colleague and/or PowerCampus)
Understanding of data structures, query and reporting.
Google suite of tools (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Gmail, Calendar)
Ability to learn new software tools independently and with speed.
Student information system implementation experience highly desirable.
