The Talent Development Program Manager plans and implements all aspects of two highly visible, annual employee programs: Staff Development Day (1000+ participants) and BEAR Day/Month (800+ participants), including designing and developing themes, securing presenters, facilitators, committees, volunteers, and others who contribute to the success of the events. The position develops communications and marketing assets to promote the events. Examples of these include web and social media content, images, videos, briefings, presentations, programs, and speeches.
The incumbent builds positive working relations with internal and external colleagues to execute these events successfully. The Talent Development Program Manager assesses the effectiveness of existing programs, enhancing them based on feedback, and developing new initiatives based on research and assessment results.
Additionally, this position manages and implements all or some aspects of existing and new talent development programs: New Employee Advisory Program, Lead from Where You Are, Staff Mentoring Program, and the Leadership Certification Program and will design and develop in-person, virtual and blended offerings and programs based on needs assessment results and in conjunction with the talent development team. To do this, the incumbent assesses the effectiveness of existing programs in relation to key performance indicators e.g., performance, employee engagement, and conducts research and needs assessments to inform programming/offering enhancements and new initiatives. The Talent Development Program Manager creates engaging learning activities and compelling content that adds to the established system of reliable professional development opportunities for staff.
This position is key in creating talent development communications, including web and social media content, emails, and presentations. Finally, the Talent Development Program Manager facilitates or co-facilitates a variety of existing and new programs and offerings, focusing on key skills sets such as mentoring, leadership, customer service, communications, team building, time management, problem solving, organizational planning etc.
Education and Experience
Bachelorâ™s degree required
Minimum of 4 years of related experience
Experience managing programs, events, and facilitating
Demonstrated creativity with event and program planning/implementation
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion
Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others
Attention to detail and follow through

Willingness to work flexible schedule as programming and events warrant
Demonstrated experience completing full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate)
Knowledge of adult learning theory preferred
Experience with project management and project management software preferred
Experience with a learning management system is preferred
Experience with instructional design software and tools e.g., Articulate 360 a plus
Highly-proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint
