MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The candidate for the position of Application Administrator must meet the following qualifications:
Bachelorâs degree in a relevant field such as a computer science, computer information systems, etc., or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Minimum of two years of experience in information technology or higher education.
Experience in the design, architecture, and implementation of SaaS and on-premise software applications.
Experience with web-based, multi-layered enterprise applications.
Experience with issue tracking and ticketing systems.
Experience with vendor management, particularly for issue escalation and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of and ability to adhere to the software development life cycle (SDLC) methodology.
Experience working in a project-based environment with strong planning and execution skills.
Knowledge of networking and security concepts and frameworks.
Ability to understand and work with large, complex IT systems.
Experience contributing to and managing development policies and procedures.
Strong ability to communicate both detailed information and high-level summaries to key stakeholders.
Ability to develop positive working relationships and a strong rapport with team members and stakeholders.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS The ideal candidate for the position of Application Administrator has the following qualifications:
Bachelorâs degree in a relevant field such as a computer science, computer information systems, etc.
More than four years of experience in information technology or higher education.
THE WORK YOU WILL DO
The Application Administrator supports the development, maintenance, and implementation of software applications. The Application Administrator delivers administrative support on a defined set of technical initiatives proposed for implementation. This role helps to facilitate the operational effectiveness and growth of a best-in-class, leading-edge organization. The Application Administrator:
Communicates positively and effectively with customers, co-workers, and stakeholders. Presents application status and proposed solutions based on relevant data and with a focus on benefits. Monitors application status and assists with the configuration, installation, maintenance, and upgrade of applications. Aligns all activities to existing ITS and university policies, processes, and procedures. Creates and maintains thorough documentation to track configuration settings. Assists with user and group access to applications.
Ensures application uptime meets or exceeds defined service-level agreements (SLAs). Collaborates with co-workers and across departments to resolve issues affecting customers. Empathizes with and advocates for the customer point-of-view. Identifies priorities and presents solutions while keeping the customer in mind.
Learns and adapts quickly to new situations, changing priorities, and disruptive technologies.Â Â Participates in the innovation process and contributes to continuous improvement efforts. Leverages the latest industry knowledge and takes the initiative to experiment with new ideas and technologies.
