MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The candidate for the position of Product Manager must meet the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, computer information systems, business administration, etc., or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Five years of experience in a related field such as information technology, product design, or product management.
Proven experience establishing strong working relationships with a wide range of team members and clients.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent communicator with experience presenting technical topics in a business-oriented fashion to non-technical audiences.
Experience working in a project-based environment using Lean and Agile methodologies.
Experience developing and maintaining product roadmaps.
Proven record of defining and delivering end-to-end, user-centered products that consider user research, market analysis, data, customer feedback, and technical constraints and opportunities.
Demonstrated analytical, organizational, project planning, and product strategy skills.
Experience authoring detailed functional specifications that will drive an effective technical solution.
Experience designing customer-centered products that produce measurable results against a documented problem statement.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS The ideal candidate for the position of Product Manager has the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business administration, computer science, computer information systems, etc.
Eight or more years of experience in a related field such as information technology, product design, or product management.
THE WORK YOU WILL DO
The Product Manager is responsible for conceiving, defining, testing, delivering, monitoring, and refining products to maximize business value. The Product Manager conducts customer research and collaborates with key stakeholders across the organization to develop and convey a distinct product vision. This role guides product teams to deliver and sustain the end-to-end customer experience. As a member of ITS, the Product Manager demonstrates ITS values in action.
The Product Manager:
Communicates product vision, strategy, and decision-making rationale to a diverse audience. Works collaboratively with others across ITS, including business analysts, researchers, designers, and developers, to deliver engaging experiences that balance user needs, business goals, and technical realities.
Defines product strategies, best-in-class processes, and innovative approaches to deliver a broad range of USC products. Participates in user research to gain insights into user pain points, challenges, and needs. Builds and delivers solutions that meet customer needs and expectations.
Contributes to innovation and continuous improvement by leveraging the latest industry knowledge. Continually develops skills, knowledge, and abilities by maintaining currency on emerging technologies and product strategy approaches.
Defines product direction and performs complex, advanced analysis on products. Authors compliance and business requirements. Collaborates with ITS stakeholders and vendors to identify roadmap elements and build consensus on product solutions and prioritization. Coordinates information from the business, data, and IT architects to align product and platform architectures and capabilities to the agreed goals for the requirements.
Utilizes best practices established around customer research, competitive analysis, and goals from key stakeholders to support decision-making. Presents opportunities and measures success.
Contributes to an inclusive environment that values differences by building and maintaining collaborative relationships with team members, peers, and ITS leaders.
