Job Duties/Responsibilities 40% - Participant Recruitment, Enrollment, and Interview Identify and recruit study candidates. Educate and consent participants for the study with regard to the established protocol, and University of Minnesota Policies. Utilize RedCAP database for managing demographic information Determine subject eligibility and maintain compliance with protocol eligibility requirements. Schedule data collection interviews according to the protocol. Conduct semi-structured interviews Target and meet specific study recruitment goals. Coordinate study activities at all study recruitment locations.
20% - Project Management and Communication Facilitate communication across a large multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural team, including local and national collaborators, community, and academic partners. Ensure the overall project schedule and planning; align resources when and where needed to meet milestones Manage and monitor study budget and needs including contracts/invoicing. Participate in all phases of research including development of surveys and questionnaire design. Prepare reports regarding study progress for the study team. Organize investigator team meetings. Ensure compliance with human subjects, HIPAA, and participant consent. Assist with presenting research findings. Support principal investigator’s interactions with departmental accountant to ensure fiscal reporting and budgetary management of project. Assist principal investigator with research, coordination, administration, planning and implementation of study. Anticipate and resolve problems.
20% - Data Management and Monitoring Develop and continuously update data collection materials and protocols. Implement and enforce protocols to protect confidentiality of human subject data. Maintain and update the databases and monitor to insure data integrity and quality. Perform quality checks on data and monitor all processes. Maintain and manage all electronic and non-electronic data. Assist with organization and maintenance of study documents, research files, and supplies Assist with data cleaning, quality control and assurance checks of study materials, survey documents
10% - Study Regulatory Requirements Assure that all IRB and other pertinent UMN systems are adhered to including training requirements and record keeping. Assist in writing the IRB applications such as consent forms, continuing review, and ongoing reporting documents, as required.
10% - Project Dissemination Work with investigators to manage timely completion of project milestones during development and management of the project. Draft sponsor reports to detail updated activity and sponsor required elements.
Required Qualifications (Must be documented on application materials) BA/BS or a combination of related education and work experience to equal 4 years Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel Basic experience with REDCap Prior quantitative/qualitative research experience including research involving direct patient contact and data collection Experience following IRB/HIPAA guidelines Effective oral and written communication skills in English language
