The Tessitura Director leads the organization’s use of Tessitura (CRM) to help deepen customer engagement, enhance earned and contributed revenue, and streamline organizational efficiency. This position provides expertise in the technical and functional operation of Tessitura software to support multiple departments within The Cleveland Orchestra, with a main focus on Sales & Communications and Philanthropy & Advancement. This position is responsible for the successful operation, integration, and optimization of The Cleveland Orchestra’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and to provide support, ongoing maintenance, and proactive development of Tessitura and future data management systems for the institution.
INSTITUTIONAL MANAGEMENT OF TESSITURA DATABASE
Prioritize and implement key Tessitura projects, updates, and initiatives.
Analyze business needs to ensure that Tessitura is optimized across the institution; recommend strategic uses of data to further institutional goals & objectives.
Collaborate with departmental staff to conceptualize, develop and manage custom solutions in Tessitura.
Proactively identify and implement improvements in existing business practices to optimize system functionality.
Ensure data quality and integrity is maintained, reliable and accurate through the development of procedures, standards, training, and best practices.
Oversee data cleanup and maintenance tasks.
TRAINING & TECHNICAL SUPPORT
Update and maintain departmental roles/responsibilities for the Tessitura database
Develop and conduct training on Tessitura and related systems for both new and current staff members.
Provide technical support to the user community.
Manage the MAA Tessitura User Group.
DATA MANAGEMENT & PROGRAMMING
Write and maintain SQL scripts to assist with custom data pulls, reporting and interfacing with other systems.
Review newly created constituent accounts for conformance to data management standards.
Coordinate and communicate the roll out and required training for system upgrades, patches and new application features.
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in information systems/technology, computer science, computer engineering or similar field of study or a minimum of 3 years related experience using Tessitura software.
One to three years of project management experience highly desirable.
Excellent analytical skills with a focus on business procedures / change management.
Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written.
Demonstrated independent, mature judgment.
Strong problem-solving skills combined with a collaborative approach.
Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member.
Ability to successfully prioritize to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekends hours.
One to three years SQL experience with emphasis on scripting, writing and debugging is preferred.
