About the Department The Office of Development and Alumni Relations drives the fundraising and alumni relations activities of the Stephen M. Ross School of Business.
Purpose Working closely with the Director of Alumni Engagement this position will develop, manage and implement the annual strategic plan, objectives, timelines and evaluations for club programs focused on strengthening and branding the alumni club network for Michigan Ross. It will further integrate alumni club strategies with the mission of the Ross School of Business. . The position will work collaboratively with all members of the Development and Alumni Relations team to execute the strategic plan. This position reports directly to the Director of Alumni Engagement.

Ross Alumni Club Program Strategy, Management & Implementation
With the Director of Alumni Engagement, develop a strategic plan to build a strong alumni brand throughout the alumni life cycle and across all alumni clubs.
Work with Director of Alumni Engagement to execute a comprehensive approach to alumni engagement through international, affinity, and domestic clubs.
Prepare action plans and timelines for alumni clubs.
Recruit, manage relationships and train club leaders and regional contacts.
Strengthen club leadership relationships with one another by designing and delivering webinars and quarterly club leadership calls.
Plan and promote Ross School, club events and regional activities.
Develop written and electronic communications for club leadership.
Manage relationships with all tier domestic clubs.
Serve as primary contact and staff support to the Networking and Events Committee of the Alumni Board of Governors.
Responsible for management and oversight of alumni clubs’ budgets.
Execute key signature events in top markets (RossTalks).
Recruit faculty participation in club events and manage relations between the clubs and faculty.
Coordinate events and activities with other Ross School of Business or UM Alumni Association programs.
Travel to meet with alumni leaders and volunteers and represent the Ross School of Business at alumni club events.
Measure and evaluate the success and effectiveness of the alumni club program.
Serve as primary contact and club liaison for Alumni Portal or other web-based communication resources with Ross IT.
Work with domestic, affinity, and international clubs to train, implement and deploy web-based communication resources.
Work closely with Marketing and Communications staff to ensure the Ross brand and messaging is implemented consistently across Alumni clubs.
Serve as Alumni Engagement liaison to MBA and BBA Admissions teams to engage alumni in support of their efforts.
Execute an in-person annual club leadership summit.
Annual Giving Strategy and Solicitation – Clubs
Develop and implement plans to increase support for the Annual Fund through Alumni Clubs.
Work with Director of Annual Giving, Director of Alumni Relations and other Development colleagues to identify and solicit donors for leadership level annual fund gifts.
Other Duties as Assigned
Assist with special projects within the Office of Development & Alumni Relations.
Serve as a liaison to faculty and staff traveling on behalf of Development and Alumni Relations and provide appropriate briefings and support.
Oversee the ACT support activities related to domestic alumni clubs, including budget reconciliation, communications, etc.
Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of professional experience in fundraising, marketing, advertising, event planning and execution, volunteer management, alumni engagement, public relations, communications or a related field
Excellent communication skills, diplomacy, discretion and presentation skills
Demonstrated project management and organizational skills; strong attention to detail
Team-oriented, flexible and customer-service oriented manner
Proven ability to successfully interact with a diverse group of people
Ability to work independently and to exercise initiative
Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office environment
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines and consistently meet deadlines
Professional demeanor and presentation
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
Demonstrated ability to design, direct and manage significant program initiatives is strongly preferred
Some experience in fundraising is very desirable, especially proven success in at least one of the following areas: alumni relations, development, public relations, volunteer management, events management or program management
Familiarity with database and website management
Demonstrated managerial and team leadership skills are preferred
