Job Description Summary
Responsible for day to day management of a diverse & complex portfolio of projects conducted with collaborators both internal and external to Penn related to mental health & addiction. With mentoring from the Division Director, the Research Project Manager will take leadership role in oversee resources related to several ongoing research projects; create & manage multi-year project timelines; ensure projecct deliverables; oversee the development of study materials, specifically source documents, protocol materials and project updates for federal and internal regulatory requirements; maintain current best practices procedures; monitor study progress and identify means to meet study recruitment and retention goals; recruiting, training, and supervising full and part-time research staff; assist in streamlining clinical and data management related and throughput efficiencies for staff and resources. This individual will be responsible for cultivating close relationships with community partner organizations, which are critical to the ongoing success of the research portfolio. S/he will lead drafting/editing manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals. Will be required to ensure that studies/research are conducted safely and according to protocol, provide close training and ongoing supervision to up to 10 research team members conducting the study and collaborates with peers from other University of Pennsylvania Health System and funding agencies. Will also be responsible for coordinating grant applications and interacts with funding administrators and the University Business Office. Provides significant contributions to presentations and manuscripts, including multiple drafts for review and dissemination. Plays a primary role in other dissemination activities related to project findings.
Qualifications Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Master's Degree preferred. Impeccable organization, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are necessary to interact effectively with all research team members, as well as with members of the Penn and Philadelphia community. All applicants must be able to demonstrate familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, database, statistical software, and web-based applications. Knowledge of regulatory processes is required. This position is contingent on continued funding.
