The Instructional Support andTraining (IST) team within the Office of Information Technology has a need fora visually talented and technology savvy graphic designer. IST offers astimulating work environment, with access to current technologies within theintellectually charged atmosphere of a university campus.
The IST team enriches theeducational experience of students by producing instructional materials insupport of teaching and learning. This position contributes to the design of materialsto promote OIT services, events, and workshops through print, web, socialmedia, and digital signage. This position trains and consults with students,faculty and staff regarding sound design principles and industry-standard software.In addition to working within an enthusiastic team of graphic designers, videoproducers, information designers, instructional designers, and instructionaltechnologists, this job promotes meaningful support and engagement with facultyand staff from across all disciplines in the areas of graphic design, digital media,and visual communication.
Duties and Responsibilities:
*Create informational graphics to support instruction for face-to-faceand online learning
*Design and implement graphic design and multimedia elements forinstructional online and print materials, as well as marketing materials for OITevents, services, and projects
*Teach and consult with students, faculty, and staff on graphicdesign principles and current design software
*Collaborate with OIT team members in the development of visualdesign brands, templates, and supporting graphics for print, web, video, multimedia,and software applications
*Manage medium-to-small scaled projects with a great degree ofindependence
*Research, test, and recommend emerging technology solutions asthey apply to visual design development
