The purpose of this position is to provide administrative and technical support, as well as consultation for the Office of Graduate Medical Education (GME) relating to GME Statewide. The GME Statewide Program Technician reports to the GME Statewide Manager to serve as a resource and point of contact for all hospital affiliates and OHSU Partners that are participating in GME programs. This currently encompasses Tuality, Adventist, Klamath Falls, Coos Bay, Grants Pass and other potential sites as programs expand across the state. In addition, this position will help support grant project management related to GME expansion across the state and other special projects as needed.
This position will serve as logistical coordinator for communication between the OHSU main site and other statewide and grant sites. Primary duties include having a thorough understanding of OHSU and central GME rules and regulations, in addition to interpreting policies as they relate to OHSU affiliate and non-affiliate sites. This position will need to be familiar with Medicare GME funding regulations in the statewide development process, as well as having a working knowledge of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) requirements. Other responsibilities include maintaining resident information and program data, as well as facilitating communication with residents across the state and helping to develop policies and procedures for statewide programs.
This position will serve as a liaison to affiliate and non-affiliate sites and will help manage oversight of day-to-day operations of GME including ensuring accuracy of the residency management database; creating effective trainings for statewide programs, including managing the yearly processes for onboarding and offboarding of trainees at affiliate sites.
Due to the nature of GME, this position must be staffed by someone who is adaptable to change, willing to learn new things, is extremely detail oriented and can effectively task switch in a busy environment.
Some travel will be required to affiliate sites including Tuality hospital, with the potential of more affiliate sites as they open.
