Position Summary: The University of California Curation Center (UC3) is seeking a Senior Software Developer to help build and support a growing suite of digital curation and preservation services. The UC3 program sits within the California Digital Library (CDL), which provides services to and on behalf of the UC system in partnership with the UC campus libraries. The primary user base for UC3 services includes UC faculty, students, and library staff as well as users at national and international institutions. The CDL is a unit within the UC Office of the President, has a staff of 75+ and is located in downtown Oakland.
The Senior Software Developer will collaborate and consult with UC3 product managers, fellow development team members, the UC3 DevOps administrator, and the CDL's central Infrastructure and Application Support group in developing leading-edge services and initiatives for research data management, data publication, and alternative metrics for usage and impact. Reporting to the UC3 development manager, the Senior Software Developer will be an enthusiastic member of a dynamic team applying advanced software concepts, techniques, and objectives to plan, create, maintain, enhance, and operate robust services responsive to the evolving needs of UC3 stakeholders. These services will provide for the streamlined acquisition, publication, long-term preservation, effective discovery, and practical use of diverse digital resources and TB-scale collections.

Applies advanced software concepts to plan, design, develop, modify, debug, deploy and evaluate highly complex software for functional areas. Performs highly complex data analysis and relational and semantic modeling working directly with UC3 product managers. Participates in coordinated agile development processes. Applies and enforces complex programming security practices.
