The Research Project Coordinator will assist with two NIH-funded studies led by Dr. Richard Saitz: 1) the EXHIT ENTRE Study, a large scale study which includes two major aims: a) a multi-site randomized controlled trial of extended release buprenorphine for hospitalized patients with opioid use disorder, and b) a multi-site trial assessing high and low intensity implementation of addiction consult services across community hospitals in Massachusetts; and 2) the RACE Study, which aims to use electronic health record (EHR) data collected routinely in clinical practice to improve recognition and management of alcohol use disorder.
The Research Project Coordinator will assist the Project Manager and Director of Research Operations with managing all aspects of the research studies, including training, project management, data management, protocol implementation and adherence, and quality control. Responsibilities include: assisting with day-to-day project management, overseeing accurate protocol implementation, assisting with reporting to NIH and the Boston University Medical Center Institutional Review Board, and providing additional administrative support to the studies as necessary.
Minimum of three years of experience in mental health/substance abuse field or health care administration, including experience coordinating multifaceted health services, research, and/or evaluation projects.
Must be highly organized and detail-oriented, have exceptional communication and writing skills, and be able to work both independently and as part of a team in a deadline driven environment.
Must have the ability to take initiative and handle multiple priorities and tasks.
Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Experience in research, data analysis and manuscript preparation is helpful.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and to work effectively with all levels of staff and management are important.
Cultural sensitivity and comfort interacting with a wide range of social, racial and ethnic populations.
Experience working with substance using populations preferred. Knowledge of MS Word, Power Point, and Excel is required.
Requirements: Master's degree and 3-5 years of experience.
