The Information and Technology Services (ITS) organization at the University of Michigan has an exciting opportunity for an IT Project Manager Senior (PM) working on cross-campus IT projects. As part of a high performance team, you will have the opportunity to work in a large, very dynamic matrix environment with cross-functional teams to define and manage all aspects of the implementation. The IT Project Manager Senior (PM) will be responsible for managing technology-centric projects ranging from software development, business process implementation, to IT infrastructure projects. Using project management skills and the ITS methodologies and standards, the IT Project Manager Senior (PM) is responsible for driving cross-functional teams to a successful project completion. The IT Project Manager Senior (PM) is expected to track project risks and interface with key stakeholders, sponsors, and Project Team.
This position requires: dedicated, passionate individuals who are: Skilled in project management; analytical; technical; creative; flexible; and able to work on projects with challenging deadlines.

A Bachelors’ degree in a related field and/or the equivalent combination of education, certification and experience
A minimum of seven (7) years of project management experience to include responsibilities requiring confidentiality, timeliness, customer service, prioritization, troubleshooting and working independently
A minimum of two (2) years of organizational design experience to include responsibilities to lead organizational change, organizational strategy and structure
Experience in the information technology industry demonstrating technical or business expertise and resolution of technical or business issues
Proven ability to lead project teams to meet customer expectations
Demonstrated ability to organize and work effectively in a matrix organization with cross-functional project teams
Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to learn new software quickly and to understand technical information and communicate it to others using clear, concise and user-friendly language
Experience in supporting Program Management Office
Experience with Agile Development and Methodologies
Experience in Shared Services Implementations
Experience with ITIL
Punctual, regular and consistent attendance is required
Must be able to remain stationary for a normal period of time, routinely moves throughout an office environment, and the ability to conduct a normal amount of work at a computer
