Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors Degree or equivalent year for year experience.Able to interface with users of various areas and levels of the university. Ability to work independently under minimal supervision. Exhibits acceptable and timely oral and written communication skills to convey information clearly. A customer-focused, service oriented, attitude is essential. Equipped to appropriately and independently respond and address IT related emergency situations. Able to achieve completion of assigned projects and tasks including any associated reporting and task closure accountability as required.Knowledge and ability to install and configure PC and/or Apple end-user computer hardware (and OS) and implement standard off the shelf application software to specifications determined by others. May involve implementation of discipline-specific 3rd party software. Familiarity of TCP/IP and wireless (802.x) wireless technologies. Some experience with enterprise-level desktop management tools. Familiarity of industry best practices for IT security and protection of electronic data assets. Understands basic concepts of project management (such as work breakdown structures) and is able to provide specific information for projects as requested. Can function independently as project manager for smaller (user or work group level) projects. Able to identify department-wide requirements for computing hardware and software. Strong knowledge of workstation computing security issues, requirements and trends. General skills in training techniques. Thorough understanding of web technologies. Strong skills in HTML. Familiarity with logical and physical design for relational databases. Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for business continuity and disaster recovery.
