UK Sourcing is part of the COO function in the UK and supports the business in its acquisition of goods and services with third party vendors. In line with the Global Sourcing Policy, and the Group Sourcing Division (RESG/ACH) UK Sourcing's aims are to minimise and manage cost and risk to the Bank by ensuring:
compliance in regard to relationships with suppliers; to apply a professional and objective approach in the procedure for selecting offers carried out independently of any existing banking relations,
prevention of supplier risk: financial strength and sustainability; economic non-reliance; insurance coverage; capacity to provide services at specified quality levels as well as to respect all their obligations, especially with regard to both business continuity measures when imposed by banking regulations, and corporate and social responsibility,
cost management; to ensure that the Bank is receiving best value for money with its external suppliers, either through competitive tendering, negotiation or supplier management
contractual security; working closely with Group Legal to ensure appropriate contracts are in place, minimising risks to the Bank
UK Sourcing works closely with the Support Functions and Business Lines to ensure that the business requirements are met whilst adhering to best practice processes and procedures
Summary of the key purposes of the role
As a Sourcing Manager you will support the business on its professional services spend. You will help to shape the consultancy strategy in the UK through liaison with the UK business and Paris counterparts. You will also manage the key consultancy suppliers and run full sourcing processes and negotiating terms. You will also manage ad hoc projects from Corporate Real Estate and support the CRE team in managing the travel spend.
Summary of responsibilities
To manage the professional services spend for SG in the UK including SGLB, SGIL and KH (private bank)
To liaise closely with the business lines on consultancy requirements, providing commercial support both locally and in collaboration with Group Sourcing (RESG/ACH)
To lead project teams through the sourcing process which will include liaising with the internal clients to agree current and future needs; data gathering and analysis; liaising with internal teams such as legal and operational risk where required; and negotiations and contract placement with successful vendor.
Negotiating supplier prices, contract terms and improvement programmes, as appropriate
To identify process improvements in the consultancy approval process
To understand and review the spend profile and identify opportunities within the professional services categories
To support the Corporate Real Estate team on the management of the travel provider
Level of Autonomy and Authority
Should be able to work autonomously on projects and escalate by exception. Should be able to influence and challenge stakeholders

Experience of working in a large corporation within Sourcing managing professional services projects.
CIPS (or working towards CIPS) preferred but not essential.
