Our Office of the President is searching for a Special Projects Manager. This is an exciting opportunity if you thrive in an interesting and challenging work environment. In this new role, you will be responsible for setting priorities and managing the execution of various special and ongoing projects within or coordinated by the Office of the President. Under the overall direction of the Chief of Staff and Vice President of Strategic Initiatives, you will be tasked with solving problems with and through internal colleagues and University stakeholders.
Core responsibilities will include:
Project Coordination - Supporting projects emanating from or happening within the President's office. Projects will cover a range of areas, but will either bolster the effectiveness of the office, provide critical support to University leadership, or further the strategic priorities of the institution.
Support of President's Residence - Working closely with the President's spouse to support her role in furthering University priorities, assist in relationship cultivation, organize CMU community events, coordinate calendars, provide staffing at events, and troubleshoot as required. Providing managerial and logistical oversight to further University objectives using the Residence as an event and social venue.
Staff Meetings and Group Events - Working reciprocally with numerous partners inside and outside the University to successfully support, coordinate, and make decisions that ensure the smooth execution of initiatives and projects critical to University's success.

You should be able to travel to various on-campus, Pittsburgh region, and remote locations for meetings and events. Additionally, you will work outside of normal business hours as occasional evenings and weekends are needed, as well as serve in an on-call capacity.
Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum five years of project management, executive staffing, or related experience required; advanced education may be considered in lieu of experience.
Experience in higher education, managing budgets, and working with diverse constituencies highly desired.
