Reporting to the Director of Talent Acquisition, the Student Employment Specialist is responsible for the administration of the central student employment function within the Talent Acquisition Department of the Office of Human Resources at the University of Pittsburgh.
As Student Employment Specialist, the incumbent is primarily responsible for oversight of the day-to-day operations of student employment which includes managing, coordinating, and evaluating processes, dictating work-flows, providing consultation, managing the website, communications, and marketing efforts, and executing special projects, as directed. In addition, the Student Employment Specialist will assist with outlining the strategy for student employment by providing recommendations regarding: short- and long-term goals and initiatives, developing the student employment brand, developing education and training efforts, and updating student employment policies, procedures, and processes.
On a continual basis, the Student Employment Specialist will evaluate efforts and processes, research trends, and identify and recommend opportunities for enhancements to the student employment function. The Student Employment Specialist must continually collaborate and communicate with external staff and leadership to ensure consistency, effectiveness, and efficiency of methods and results.
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree preferred, and/or equivalent combination of both education and 1-2 years' experience in human resources, higher education administration, student or career services, leadership, personnel management, project management, and/or a related field is required.
Department Details: Talent Acquisition, formerly Recruiting and Client Services, is involved in all aspects of recruiting, hiring, and on-boarding staff employees. Talent Acquisition serves as a collaborative partner with departmental leadership, hiring managers, and HR Liaisons across the University in order to attract and promote talented employees. Talent Acquisition provides a variety of free services to hiring leadership, from conducting full-cycle recruitments to assisting in one particular stage of the hiring process.
