The Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse Analyst supports the Anesthesiology related aspects of the Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Warehousing (DW) solutions for the Department of Anesthesiology.
-Evaluating and understanding UMPhysicians’ business data content as well as perioperative EPIC content -Translating business needs into analytics/reporting requirements and interfacing with company and clients to ensure successful delivery of client reporting -Delivers business intelligence solutions to end users to facilitate their making more informed business decisions.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: -Provides analysis of Anesthesiology data including clinical, financial, operational, and performance data. -Works to drive core insights from available data and create strategies to assess business, evaluate employee performance, and optimize operations work flow. -Performs ad-hoc analysis on aggregated data. -Drills into the granular detail to explain the underlying dataset and respond to queries. -Delivers business intelligence solutions, in OBIEE, to end users to facilitate their making more informed business and clinical decisions. -Supports the analytic needs of the business by understanding, evaluating and using data from various sources. -Defines dashboard and reporting needs/requirements. -Participates in the design, development and debugging of dashboards and reporting, and ensuring that reporting development follows prescribed development life cycle and meets all quality standards. -Create reports needed by Anesthesiology through use of OpenTempo, McKesson MPF, EPIC and Flowcast. and ad-hoc reporting. -Develop and maintain an understanding of data sources. -Load actual results and perform high-level analytics to ensure plan data is loaded accurately. -Create test plans, test cases, test scripts and performs functional testing.
The minimum qualifications for this role are: -BS degree in related field and 2 years of experience in data analysis/management and report writing or Bachelor’s degree in a non-related field and 4 years of experience in data analysis/management and report writing. -Experience in enterprise informatics, OBIEE, SQL, EPIC, planning, solutions. -Demonstrated ability to deliver projects in a fast paced, multi stakeholder environment within scope, timeline, and budget -Strong hands-on experience and understanding of project implementations, project structure (both formal and informal), project life-cycle, and best practice standards -Ability to engage with the business with credibility and positive relationship management outcomes. -Outstanding communication and presentation skills and ability to present performance management/BI concepts to senior leadership -Project management, planning, problem-solving and decision-making skills
Preferred qualifications: -MS degree preferred -5+ years of experience in data analysis/management and report writing. -Familiarity with EPIC Anesthesia Module, Anesthesiology medical records data, billing data and clinical practice.
