Drew University is seeking an Executive Director of Campaign Advancement /Strategy in the Advancement Department. This position reports to and serves as a strategic thought partner to the Vice President for Advancement. This position may be located on campus or primarily in New York City.
Collaborates with the VP for Advancement on leadership donor strategy
Develops a comprehensive vision of the upper-tier donor landscape
Creates institutional case for support
Develops strategies for discrete institutional priorities
Takes the lead role in developing donor portfolios
Creates longitudinal plans for principal and leadership donor prospects
Creates donor proposals, gift intention/gift agreement documents, and other important donor communications
Creates briefings for Presidential and VP donor meetings
With input from the AVP of Advancement, develops and maintains a moves management system to track leadership and major gifts progress
Creates cultivation opportunities and solicitation briefings and ensures appropriate donor stewardship
Creates and distributes prospect management reports for staff, volunteers, and university leadership and updates documents and tracking systems
Oversees principal/leadership gift documentation and acknowledgments to ensure personal, timely, and appropriate recognition of support
Manages a portfolio of leadership-level prospects.

Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience. 10-15 years of experience is required in Development/Advancement with experience working in Higher Education
Challenging experience in fast-paced, detail-oriented development shop
Excels in conceptualizing, writing, and coordinating advancement materials
Superb organization and project management skills, with the ability to create long term strategies and execute on short term deliverables
Experience working in higher education
Track record of confidentiality and discretion
Strong interpersonal and intrapersonal skills. Must be an active listener and open-minded collaborator
Must possess a growth mindset and a nimble and flexible attitude
Working knowledge of Google’s G Suite and Microsoft Office products
Ideal Education and Experience
Master’s degree preferred.
Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge and Banner is a plus with an ability to quickly gain proficiency in a new CRM
