We seek a full-time, talented and energetic Director of Membership and Engagement to join our compassionate and collaborative team. Reporting to the CEO and managing staff and volunteers, this critical, high touch position manages all aspects of the membership acquisition and retention program. Working with a small staff, Village members, board and committee members, community organizations, donors and volunteers, the ideal candidate will have the ability to think strategically, analyze and capitalize on growth opportunities and work among diverse constituencies with empathy and insight.
Deliver quality member service to individuals over 50 who are seeking social connections or who are going through transitions and challenges, including health, employment, social isolation, and finding purpose using email, phone, in-person events and one-on-one meetings.
Help plan and oversee programming and events for prospective and current members. This includes identifying, recruiting and working with community partners to strengthen programs, develop new initiatives and deliver exceptional programming.
Oversee membership and service request staff, interns and volunteers; develop volunteer training and on-boarding programs; enhance service delivery and peer-to-peer connections.
Serve as the primary resource for qualitative and quantitative assessments of member satisfaction and program effectiveness, which includes helping create member surveys as well as collecting, analyzing and reporting data to internal and external stakeholders and grant makers.
Manage Donor Perfect database, which includes updating and maintaining member data; analyzing data to support marketing outreach; and defining standard operating procedures for the membership team.
Serve as a representative and spokesperson at community partner events and prospective member events.
Work closely and collaboratively with Healthcare Initiative as it pertains to membership and engagement, assist with donor cultivation and stewardship, assist with reporting for grants and sponsorship. Serve as the staff liaison to Village Committees as appropriate.

Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree or equivalent experience a plus.
Relationship management/leadership experience preferred; community building experience, broad experience in liberal arts, social sciences, health sciences or customer service ideal. Experience working with older adults, familiarity with social work, health care issues, human services, and event planning helpful.
10+ years relevant experience, including managing and motivating staff and volunteers, analyzing data, and program management.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Sheets and Donor Perfect or a related relationship management software program. Experience with Constant Contact and Word Press a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and tactfully, presenting a positive image.
Collaborative, entrepreneurial approach to problem solving, enthusiasm for team work, motivating staff and volunteers with positive energy. An amiable, supportive personality.
Ability to meet deadlines; superior project management skills with attention to detail.
Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize work, multi-task across multiple responsibilities
Ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
