Drew University is seeking a Tutor Coordinator in the Center for Academic Excellence (CAE).
This is a 32-week (two (2) academic semesters) part-time position. In an administrative staff role, the Tutor Coordinator facilitates the operations and management of tutoring services and supports the CAE Directors in fulfilling the Center’s mission to provide academic support for University students. There are no teaching or academic advisement responsibilities.
Establish, coordinate, and maintain the online tutoring schedule for tutors and students.
Maintain database and records of tutor information: training status, payroll verification, CRLA certification, etc.
Provide administrative support for the operations of the CAE; collaborate with the Directors.
Act as an important point of contact for internal and external constituents of the CAE.
Oversee group of CAE student workers: student administrators (desk staff).
Participate in ongoing efforts to identify, recruit, interview, select and train tutors, peer academic coaches and other CAE student workers.
Provide administrative support for the preparation of reports, communications, and CAE events.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree; Masters preferred
One to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; preferred experience in a university setting
Able to function independently while operating within a team environment
Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
Excellent oral and written skills and ability to communicate comfortably with diverse populations; demonstrated ability to manage confidential information
An energetic, upbeat, patient/approachable, and professional style
Ability to handle multiple priorities, tasks and deadlines simultaneously
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Google (Docs, Forms, etc) and online systems.
Comfortable with a flexible schedule to meet operational and administrative needs
