Job Summary: Under general supervision of the Development Program Manager, the Development Analyst is responsible for funding priority case support, as well as prospect research, tracking and data analysis, and providing analyst-level support to the College of Letters and Science development team. Coordinate and support college-funding priorities with case statement development and writing, as well as strategically prioritize, sort and communicate prospect data based on various factors to support the college fund raising staff in meeting annual visit and dollar goals, as well as college priority and campaign goals. Manage other administrative fund raising functions to help meet the strategic funding goals of increasing engagement with individuals, corporations, and foundations. Further,recommend research strategies and coordinate follow-up on prospects with members of the college major gift team.
Provide administrative and technical support to the Assistant Dean, Development Program Manager, and L&S professional fundraisers. Work with the university development office to ensure that all aspects of development processes and procedures are consistent with University policies and the policies, practices, and standards of UC Davis University Development.

Stand for extended periods of time during events.
Lift and carry items weighing up to 25 lbs.
Work Environment: Valid California Driver's license to attend events.
Work occasional evenings and weekends to attend fundraising events and to meet operational needs.
Participation in the College of Letters and Science June Commencement exercises is required.

Minimum Qualifications: Strong project management and problem-solving skills and skills to work in a demanding environment.
Thorough knowledge and experience in non-profit fund raising (higher education fund raising), including cultivation, solicitation and stewardship, prospect research and tracking, and campaign structures.
Knowledge and experience in research principles using databases (fund raising databases), libraries and publicly available resources.
Skills researching and organizing information to identify philanthropic patterns, tendencies, and relationships among individuals, corporations and foundations.
Experience to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive information.
Experience with computer programs, database management, spreadsheets and word processing.
Skills with MS Excel and/or spreadsheet programs to sort and assemble large amounts of data.
Skills using internet and calendaring software (MS Outlook).
Thorough writing, editing and proofreading skills to create and edit text and statistical documents; verify correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation; and to ensure accuracy of details.
Interpersonal and communication skills to provide a customer service-oriented approach to dealing with internal and external requests from diverse members of the public.
Preferred Qualifications: Excellent knowledge of the university, its achievements, vision, mission, goals, objectives, applicable policies, infrastructure and current issues of concern and knowledge of issues of concern for higher education generally.
Advanced written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, including skills and experience producing briefings and proposals; developing and executing effective presentations; and creating reports and studies.
Thorough written, verbal, and interpersonal communications and political acumen to effectively represent the campus.
Advanced knowledge of and experience with practices and procedures associated with building and maintaining effective working relationships with all levels of internal and external constituencies.
Thorough research, critical thinking, and analytical skills, including sound judgment and decision-making skills to correctly identify potential areas of concern; and skills to propose and implement effective strategic resolutions.
Skill to interpret and apply UC policies and procedures.
Experience with UC Advancement Information System (AIS), Banner and DaFIS systems.
