Incumbent serves as Senior Manager Business Development & Revenue Generation within Integrated Procure-to-Pay Solutions (IPPS) ---a multi-divisional unit of Business and Financial Services (BFS). This position supports UC San Diego's strategic plan by providing high-level professional exploration, planning, analysis, and implementation of major campus supply chain programs, strategic initiatives, allocation of resources and special projects. Under general direction of the Director of Procurement for the university, incumbent leads and directs all aspects of revenue generating initiatives across the supply chain organization. Manages programs and proposals with broad impact across the organization and monitors benefit to the campus. Responsible for developing and implementing strategic alliances with campus partners, suppliers and third party partners that lead to revenue generating and/or cost saving initiatives. Provides leadership and oversight for message development in support of initiatives to promote revenue generating programs.
Demonstrates a high degree of relevant knowledge to manage formulation of strategies and programs including developing policies, analysis of problems without precedence or structure while functioning with a high degree of autonomy. Primarily deals with programs and proposals with broad impact across the organization. Oversees and directs the implementation of new programs, strategy and planning committees, and various projects with all levels of staff. Collaborates with internal and external partners on development of new programs.
Must be willing to travel and have access to reliable transportation.
Effort outside a 40 hour workweek may be be required.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Demonstrated expertise in managing revenue generating programs and stakeholder management.Knowledge of financial policies, practices, systems, and reporting techniques.Advanced skills in short and long term strategic planning, analysis, problem-solving and customer service.
Advanced knowledge of applicable policy analysis techniquesDemonstrated proficiency Microsoft software applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio) or equivalent programs/ Ability to generate complex reports using diverse data sets.
Advanced project management skills. Project management experience, including experience in project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closing for a major project.
Proven ability to deliver well thought-out presentations that are persuasive, informative, and effectual to all audiences using current technology, speaking extemporaneously on a wide variety of job related subjects to express ideas, thoughts, and opinions.
1) Certification as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or an equivalent training/experience in operational improvement; 2) Certification as a Project Management Professional, or an equivalent training/experience in project management.
