You will focus on value creation and value protection initiatives within and across our portfolio companies.
You will partner with deal teams throughout the investment life-cycle to establish and renew company-specific value creation plans by:
Assessing the complexity of implementation and the probability of value capture Developing metrics, milestones and tracking tools and assuming a project management office role where required On-boarding new assets, including establishing governance, talent, finance and risk best practices and executing 100-day plans Helping to prepare an asset for sale and executing the sales process Contributing to INR winning deals by serving as a resource to deal teams conducting operational due diligence and early identification of opportunities
Across the INR portfolio you will:
Identify best-in-class practices that could be applied across many portfolio companies to increase value or reduce risk Apply strategic and operational judgment to inspire deal and management teams to drive strong results Use your network and liaise with external consultants in delivering specialized initiatives Quickly build trust with colleagues and executives to become a respected thought-partner Contribute positively to INR's and OTPP's brand and culture Where there is a long pipeline of value creation initiatives, you may serve as a board member representing OTPP's interest in a portfolio company
What you'll need
12+ years of combined corporate development, management consulting and/or operations experience, with significant exposure to asset-intensive industries (such as utilities, transportation, mining and others) Exposure to value creation in a direct investment context possibly through M&A and integration activity or in a private equity environment Ability to think strategically, find opportunities and link initiatives to a company's broader business strategy Talent for quickly building trust, inspiring change, and driving high performance Excellent analytical skills to perform in-depth financial analysis and assess relative risk-adjusted opportunities Strong project management and change management skills in order to execute effectively High-energy, ambitious, innovative approach to problem solving Willingness and ability to travel to portfolio companies and OTPP offices, as required Strong educational credentials commensurate with a successful background in management consulting Spike(s) in relevant experience such as large capital projects, organization design and talent, digital transformations and/or integrations and separations will be considered an asset
