The Anti-Cruelty Society is seeking a full-time Social Media and Digital Communications Coordinator who will provide project-based support, coordination and organization for marketing and communications activities. With a focus on social media and video, the Communications Coordinator will help tell the Society’s story through digital marketing channels to help raise the profile of the organization.

The Anti-Cruelty Society has been at the forefront of animal welfare and humane education since its founding in 1899. As one of Chicago’s oldest animal welfare organizations, our history is as large as our hearts. What started with just a single meeting would grow to be an entire community selflessly committed to helping pets and educating people.
Develop video to highlight the work of the Society in a creative and impactful way.
Manage social media postings on a daily basis providing creative content to raise awareness and engagement.
Update content for the website for top performing pages.
Ability to take engaging photographs and video to tell the Society’s story.
Identify effective marketing promotion strategies that increase engagement through social and digital media.
Upload new content into new Drupal content management system
Edit copy for key webpages and departments to meet needs of the new web strategy.
Provide back of site support for tagging and monitoring of all content pages
Develop new content for the web including new calendar updates and the web slider content and schedule.
Connect video and web copy to social media and other marketing collateral.
Other job duties as assigned or requested.
Must be a creative and effective writer, videographer, and content developer. Must have knowledge of existing social networking and have the willingness to engage with new channels as they grow in popularity. Experience with developing and editing video for social media, website, and media b-roll is required with the ability to write in AP Style. Must possess thorough knowledge of PCs, using word processing, spreadsheet and database software, esp. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access), video editing and experience with a content management system (Drupal preferred). Some design experience (InDesign) is preferred. The ability to adhere to strict timeline, meet short deadlines, organize tasks/time to ensure timely completion of all projects is also required. Must interact courteously and respectfully with supervisors, fellow employees, volunteers, general public and media. The ideal candidate must have a positive personality with a can-do attitude, knowledge of The Anti-Cruelty Society’s mission and philosophy and love of animals.
A BA/BS in communications, marketing, or related field preferred. Experience working in a marketing, communications or social media content field in a fast-paced environment with experience in video production. A communications internship experience will also be acceptable.
