The Admissions Recruiter serves as the primary lead to plan and implement a Schoolwide recruitment plan for the Gillings School of Global Public Health. The Admissions recruiter will communicate and work with prospective students by attending recruitment events, some in-person appointments, telephone, email, social media sites, and video/virtual chats on the admissions process. This position requires the ability to travel, both locally and nationally, which will include evening and weekend hours.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Polished and proficient oral presentation/public speaking skills.
Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, networking and collaboration skills.
Strong customer service and people skills.
Knowledge of university admissions process.
Requires extensive travel and overnight stays in state and out of state.
Ability to work some evenings and weekends.
Valid driver’s license is required.
Ability to move, lift, transport or distribute objects up to 40 pounds with or without accommodation.
Two to four years of previous experience in college admissions, recruiting, or orientation preferred.
Familiarity with higher education desirable.
Willing to gain knowledge of enrollment management practices specifically related to recruiting and marketing strategies.
Ability to think strategically, analytically, critically, and respond tactically to enrollment opportunities and challenges.
Capable of developing and implementing integrative marketing and recruitment plans to reach enrollment goals.
Possess exceptional interpersonal and communication and project management skills.
Knowledge of integrated technology-based applications.
Familiarity with CRM systems and practices.
Demonstrated proficiency of technology; extensive use of Excel, Word, and other campus computing systems.
