Reporting to the MA Program Director and working closely with the Assistant Director and the Director of Academic Administration and Finance, the incumbent provides administrative support for the MA program.
S/he provides day-to-day and overall support for the program; plans, organizes and hosts a wide range of internal and external program events; and works closely with the MA Program Director and the Assistant Director to project and maintain program budgets.
Incumbent manages and maintains administrative dossiers, including database maintenance, generation of period academic records and reports for review by the MA Program Director and Assistant Director.
S/he works closely with the MA Program Director and Assistant Director and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences coordinating admissions and registration activities; preparing files for review and auditing student records for degree requirements for graduation; coordinating career development workshops for students in the program; collecting and analyzing employment data, generating placement and related reports for the MA Director; building and enhancing a database of the program's specific alumni and employers.
S/he manages data records and files of current MA students and alumni, including contact addresses, demographic data, academic records and placements. S/he manages MA program marketing, outreach activities, building and maintaining mailing lists, e-mail for domestic and international academic institutions and other organizations with prospective students; updates MA program brochures and ensures accuracy of the MA web page.
In consultation with the MA Program Director and Assistant Director, s/he creates and disseminates periodic communications; designs and supports digital communications and social media outreach; updates the Department's media sites on all event and programmatic related activities, including academic calendar announcements; and schedules meetings with students for academic advice, and other relevant departmental and University policies.
S/he assists students with University resources and visa and housing issues; routine queries; and serves as liaison for MA program students with campus offices; fields academic questions with guidance from the MA Program Director and Assistant Director. Other duties as required.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience and two years related experience required.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills necessary, including ability to interact professionally, effectively and responsibly with a diverse population of students, faculty, and others.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality. Must have strong computer skills (Excel, MS Word, and database application). Ability to create complex spreadsheets and manage multiple databases necessary. Must have high degree of accuracy and ability to coordinate multiple projects with competing priorities; have demonstrated ability to manage projects independently as well as collaboratively. Some evening hours/weekend work may be required during peak periods or for events.
Some experience in an academic environment preferred as well as experience dealing with international students.
