The LegalDepartment has a number of key operations to meet our obligations to variousregulatory oversight and investigative bodies as necessary. This includesobligations to regulatory bodies of legal entities, both domestic andinternational that regulate our business as well as to civil and criminalinvestigation authorities or adversarial counsel. Legal is organized by Practice Groups thatconform to the organization of the Firm's lines of business and corporate staffareas. Each Practice Group has a General Counsel who is the PracticeGroup Head and who reports to the Firm's General Counsel.
The StrategicInitiatives team in Legal has been formed to address large scale transformationalneeds that have firm-wide impact for which Legal is the primary or significantstakeholder. Within the Legal StrategicInitiatives team, two of the groups formed to assist the firm with addressingthese needs include Legal Documentation Strategy and the Office of LegalObligations.
Documentationis an important area of focus due to external factors such as legal and regulatoryrisk and client experience, and internal factors such as efficiency andconsistency in our document strategy. The Legal Documentation Strategy team hasdesigned a program to facilitate attorneys performing a periodic, risk adjustedreview of JPMC client facing documentation.
TheLegal Documentation Strategy team is seeking a candidate with experiencemanaging program implementations and process design, with strong skills in projectmanagement and change management. This candidate will be responsible for theregional implementation and support of the new legal documentation reviewprocesses, as well as supporting the EMEA Legal Department in other documentationrelated operations. Broadly, this effort will include; (a) developing astrategic plan for implementing the new process, along with training andsupport, (b) executing program governance, change management/sustainability,(c) coordinating closely with the firm-wide documentation strategy initiatives asthey evolve (d) ensuring legal review and documentation processes and standardsare aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Thiswork will involve gathering and organizing data, developing project plans andtracking progress, interacting with members of the Legal Department, Technologyand Business Operations across lines of business and support functions, and identifyingand researching best practices and available tools to improve processes.
Due to the natureof the program, a highly adaptable self-starter with strong skills in projectmanagement, data analysis, presentations and communication would excel in thisrole.
Serve as a thought leader and design tactical and strategic solutionsrespective to implementing new documentation related processes
Manage day-to-day operational aspects of various documentation relatedprocesses
Measure, track and benchmark progress/performance against establishedstandards on an ongoing basis
Deliver timely, fact based information about the progress of keyinitiatives. Navigate and facilitate information flow/messaging amongstteam and with other groups at the firm
Liaise extensively with members across the Legal department, line ofbusiness functional teams, and firmwide strategic programs. Drive and facilitate discussions andactivities across teams to ensure a coordinated effort
Develop clear and concise reports and presentation materials, withactionable recommendations that drive continuous improvement in businessprocess control function effectiveness, to be shared with senior management andother relevant stakeholders
Articulate required capabilities to support processes and controls,including for the evaluation and development of supporting technology
Facilitate continuous improvement by harvesting lessons learned andidentifying reuse opportunities
Assist with group management and organization
Analyze large amounts of information and pulling out key messages
Bachelor's Degree required
7+ years of experience working with key cross-functional groups in a complex line of business, implementing multifaceted and new procedures, processes and systems
Experience managing staff
Familiarity with developing quality control and assurance procedures
Highly proficient in MS Excel (pivot table and data manipulation, lookup/index/match functions, etc.), MS PowerPoint is required. Visio / process mapping experience preferred
Strong analytic and questioning skills and ability to distill large amounts of information into key messages
Superior presentation skills required to provide status to key audience in a concise, informative and timely manner
Superior organization skills, strong attention-to-detail, independent, adaptable, self-motivated
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to effectively partner with all levels of management across a diverse set of functions, locations and business. Exceptional interpersonal, relationship building and influencing skills
Outstanding problem-solving capabilities - ability to analyze situations with little guidance, perform self-guided research and offer creative solutions
Ability to manage multiple priorities and be successful in a fast paced environment
Experience working within a legal organization is preferred
