In practice, these two domains overlap and are interdependent. To function successfully, faculty and administrators depend on a high level of consultation, trust, mutual respect and collegial collaboration. The Academic Senate has 23 standing committees of UC Santa Cruz faculty members that meet regularly in addition to quarterly meetings of the Senate as a whole.
