A Post-Doctoral Research Associate position is available in the Spatial Analysis Lab in the National Institute of Mathematical and Biological Synthesis (NIMBioS) at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. This position is funded by the US Forest Service. The project will focus on characterizing forest structure and biomass from National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP) digital surface model (DSM) data acquired in 2018 for Tennessee and Virginia.
The postdoctoral associate will be expected to develop plot-level accuracy assessments, state-wide evaluations of post-stratified forest volume and biomass estimates, and code or specialized methodologies to process and/or analyze the various spatial data sets.
