Minneapolis College is seeking a temporary, adjunct instructor to teach Computer-Aided Design (CAD) in the Apparel Technologies Program within the School of Design and the Arts. This is an opportunity for a teaching appointment during Fall Semester of the 2019-2020 academic year. The appointment may be renewed for Spring Semester at the discretion of the Dean of the School of Design and the Arts.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Teach one section of APRL 2150 Computer-Aided Design (CAD) (Fall Semester 2019, 4 credits)
Teach one section of APRL 2150 Computer-Aided Design (CAD) (Spring Semester 2020, 4 credits). Option for renewal of appointment at Dean's discretion
Provide quality instruction and services to a very diverse student population
Maintain consistent communication with students and staff through office hours, email, telephone
Participate in course, department, and institutional assessment projects and departmental/division/school meetings as necessary
Support the mission, vision and core values of the college
Fall Semester 2019 (August 26 - December 20, 2019); Spring Semester 2020 (January 13 - May 15, 2020)

Instructor salaries currently range from $37,437 - $82,417 annually on the basis of education and experience; salary schedule placement is determined in accordance with the 2017-2019 Master Agreement between the Minnesota State Board of Trustees and the Minnesota State College Faculty. Adjunct faculty members who teach fewer than five (5) credits per semester will be compensated at the rate of $1,400 per semester credit.
Bachelor degree in apparel design, fashion design, clothing design, or textiles and clothing
Occupational Experience Requirement
Four full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid occupational experience in apparel design, pattern making, and production
One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
3 - 5 years experience using standard industry software (Optitex preferred)
Experience with grade-rule application
Plotting patterns and markers experience
Experience using CAD to apply flat pattern design skills to develop pattern pieces and models
