Job Description Summary
Under the supervision of the Director, and alongside the Senior Training Specialist, and Training Coordinator, the Training Specialist is responsible for the design, development and delivery of training for Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) staff on all DAR technology: Atlas (PeopleSoft Contributor Relations), iModules (broadcast email, event registration, chapter pages), MVP (Penn developed alumni volunteer fundraising software; Penn Giving Pages (Penn developed crowd source funding pages). This position develops training curriculum and delivers training programs to personnel deemed appropriate across the University of Pennsylvania campus in the lab classroom and web environments. This position is responsible for the identification and implementation of new methods of delivering content following accepted industry standards. Duties include but are not limited to training, curriculum development, content research, content design, creation of new and existing materials, marketing of training opportunities, managing classes in Knowledgelink (the learning management system) and account administration.
The Training Specialist is responsible for developing a process to quantify and evaluate the effectiveness of our training curriculum to determine where it could be enhanced to provide our end users with the most effective toolset possible.
The Training Specialist will assist the Senior Training Specialist on a variety of special projects. As DAR continues to grow, new projects both big and small continue to fall under the responsibilities of the training department. The Senior Training Specialist needs the project management skills and flexibility to be able to complete projects efficiently and effectively, as they come to the table.
Additionally, supporting the Director, the Training Specialist will manage and moderate iModules User group meetings and activity, as well as provide feedback and enhancement ideas to the iModules project manager for Pennâ™s account. Send regular communications to iModules Users to keep them up to date on new functionality. As an iModules subject matter expert, the Training Specialist will assist in managing the operational aspects of the campaign events by handling registration processing, broadcast email reminders, nametag generation, attendance list circulation, event data, and event attendance loading into Atlas.
The Training Specialist participates as an integral member of the Atlas Help team, monitors and manages the Atlas Help ticketing system and contribute to the troubleshooting of end user questions and problems.
