The Dental Hygiene Program, based in the Department of Allied Health in the School of Health Sciences at the University of New Haven is seeking to hire a full time 12-month Clinical Dental Hygienist. The Clinical Dental Hygienist is responsible for a variety of duties that support student instruction and operation of the dental hygiene programs at the University of New Haven. This position is to begin Fall 2019.

The School of Health Sciences is comprised of four undergraduate and three graduate programs offered on its West Haven, Connecticut campus. The School’s faculty include 55 full-time and clinical faculty, an on-campus Dental Center and a Health Sciences Simulation Laboratory.
Clinical instruction of students
Maintenance and monitoring of clinic/laboratory equipment and supplies
Maintain compliance with OSHA, CDC, and other regulatory agencies
Maintain patient records, digital software data, and run reports in accordance with Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) requirements
Provide support to faculty and other administrative staff
The program is seeking a Dental Hygienist, with an earned Master’s degree or within 2 years of completing a Master’s degree. Qualified candidates will have a minimum 2 years of clinical practice and 1 year of teaching experience in a dental hygiene program; have a current Connecticut dental hygiene license and certification in local anesthesia. Candidates will possess knowledge of dental hygiene accreditation, technology common in dental hygiene practice and education; and knowledge of computer applications commonly used in dental hygiene.
