To assist the Department Vice President to achieve Departmental goals by: coordinating, implementing and monitoring programs; coordinating and managing fiscal and human resources activities; coordinating and managing Departmental services, finances, equipment purchases and facilities management; and interfacing with appropriate personnel on multiple aspects of program development and project management in the Department.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates and manages all administrative operations and support functions for the Department of Care Management to ensure compliance with established objectives and practices. Manages performance to risk-based contracts related to quality, cost, and utilization. Works collaboratively with the population health data analytics team developing reports, dashboards, and key performance metric documentation processes. Prepares annual Departmental capital and operational budgets, recommends/initiates distribution of resources and monitors budgeted vs. actual expenditures Manages and coordinates all Departmental contracts, including employed faculty, independent contractors, lease arrangements and all other contracts Coordinates and supervises the Department of Care Management's recruiting program activities. Maintains confidential personnel records for professional and non-professional staff. Screens/interviews applicants for all administrative support staff positions and makes hiring recommendations. Represents Department at Management Council and other meetings/functions as requested by the Chair or VP. Works independently on projects/reports as directed by Department Chair, VP or other members of the Medicine Leadership Team Performs assigned work safely, adhering established departmental safety rules and policies. Reports to Chairman, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors. Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
BSN and/or MSN Degree in Business Administration, Hospital Administration, Health Care Administration or related field.
Five (5) years' experience in financial or operations administration, preferably in a hospital-based environment with at least three (3) years in a supervisory position. Registered Nurse required; Case Management Certification required within 18 months of eligibility date.
An equivalent combination of experience and education may be substituted.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of financial and operations management principles. Knowledge of computer systems, including MS Office Knowledge of CCHS and departmental policies and procedures. Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma and other Care Management methodologies Ability to manage and coordinate Departmental support functions. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate programs and projects. Ability to plan, research and analyze activities and services. Ability to identify, analyze and evaluate problems and recommend/effect solutions. Ability to develop and maintain budgets. Ability to delegate tasks, responsibilities and authority to subordinates. Ability to exercise judgement, tact and diplomacy. Ability to maintain confidential information, materials and files. Skill in oral and written communications.
