Posting Summary: Position: Instructor /Assistant / Associate Professor Health Information Management
Description: Design, teach and coordinate classroom and laboratory courses in areas of health information management and health informatics. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching courses in health statistics and analysis, quality assessment and improvement, and application of computer systems in a health care setting. Recruit, advise and mentor students; provide service to the campus and professional communities; and contribute to related research areas.
Preferred Qualifications: An earned doctorate in health informatics, statistics, computer science or related field (required for senior faculty rank at the tenure track/assistant/associate professor level); Experience teaching in workforce or college/university settings in both traditional and online delivery methods; Experience in data mining, data warehousing, data analytics, predictive modeling, data mapping, data reporting, health care technologies, and project management.
The preferred candidate should be able to demonstrate a strong working knowledge of healthcare and health care insurance industry, products, systems, business strategies and analytics; an ability to gather data and information from key stakeholders to inform the development of projects, policy and curriculum; and an ability to communicate technical ideas and results to non-technical clients in written and verbal form. This is an exciting opportunity to join our faculty and play a pivotal role in the development of a health informatics and analytics component within our current Health Information Management program.
